Accessibility Policy

While Section 508 dictates legal requirements, WCAG provides a comprehensive set of checkpoints to ensure websites are designed, written, and coded properly for assistive technologies. For those familiar with these standards, we actively aim for Level AA compliance across our site and continually look for opportunities to meet Level AAA compliance.

To ensure a seamless experience for all users, we implement the following best practices:

Accessible Tables: Data tables are utilized strictly for tabular information and are coded with proper headings and summaries for easy navigation.

Descriptive Alternative Text: All images feature alternative text (alt text) so visually impaired users utilizing screen readers can understand the visual content.

High Color Contrast: The contrast between foreground text and background colors is sufficiently strong to assist users with visual impairments or color blindness.

Scalable Text: All text is designed to resize dynamically according to your personal browser and device preferences without breaking the page layout.

Proper Heading Structure: Headings (H1, H2, H3) are coded correctly to establish a logical page structure, rather than just using enlarged, bold text.

Contextual Links: Hyperlinks are written to make sense out of context. We avoid vague phrases like “Click here” or “Read more” so screen reader users know exactly where a link leads.
